Zaramo, Zalamo in Tanzania
Zaramo
marriages are usually polygamous and divorce is frequent. Family names
are passed down through the mother. Their society is divided into clans
which recognize a common descent. The children always belong to the clan
of their mother rather than their father. A great event for the family
and clan is the birth of a child, especially if this child is a girl,
since this ensures the passing on of the family name. Zaramo are
predominantly Muslim and observe basic Islamic practices, however, many
have mixed Islamic beliefs with their traditional ethnic religion.
Traditional Zaramo believe in one supreme being called Mulungu.
Ministry Obstacles
Tribal hostilities may make it difficult for Christian tribes to take the good news of Christ to the Zaramo people.
Outreach Ideas
There are many strongly Christian tribes in Tanzania. Pray that some of these will be given a burden to share Christ with the Zaramo people. Pray the Lord will show them how to best do that.
Pray for the followers of Christ
There are a few followers of Jesus among the Zaramo, but not many. Pray these Christians will faithfully fellowship together, considering how to spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Pray for the entire people group
Pray for improved literacy levels for the Zaramo, and for strong marriages.
Scripture Focus
"Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name." 1 Chronicles 16:28-29 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Kita dipanggil untuk berdoa untuk membina hubungan yang intim dengan Tuhan dan berdoa bagi sesama kita sebagai bukti kasih kita pada sesama terutama yang terhilang dan tengah berbeban berat
